NameTheKid is built to need as little of your data as possible. You can browse names and save favorites without an account — those favorites are stored only on your device.

What we store

Without an account: your favorites and matched names are kept locally on your device (browser storage / on-device app storage). They never leave your device.

With an account (optional): if you sign in, we store your email and your synced favorites, lists, and matches so they follow you across devices. Authentication is handled by Better Auth on our own server.

Partner mode: partner sessions are identified by a short code and held in memory only for the duration of a session. We do not retain the names you swipe.

Subscriptions: purchases are processed by RevenueCat / the App Store / Google Play. We receive an anonymous entitlement status, not your payment details.

Analytics and diagnostics

Product analytics: we use PostHog Cloud EU to understand whether people complete onboarding, use key features, encounter a paywall, and complete or cancel a purchase. Events may include the app platform and version, a screen category, and an anonymous or internal account identifier. We do not send baby names, surnames, searches, partner codes, email addresses, free text, payment details, or error messages to PostHog. Session replay, automatic interaction capture, and location enrichment are disabled.

Errors and performance: we use our self-hosted Sentry service to diagnose crashes, errors, and slow operations. Reports can include technical information such as the app version, operating system, device type, stack trace, and the operation that failed. Sentry is configured not to collect default personally identifiable information. PostHog is not used for error reporting.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, use product analytics for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Your choices

You can clear local data anytime by clearing your browser/app storage, and you can delete your account (and its synced data) from the Account screen.
